Books for Dreamers is an independent publishing studio founded by author and illustrator Zoe Ko. Based in Denmark, the studio creates thoughtful and inspiring books for children and adults that celebrate curiosity, creativity, and lifelong learning.
We believe that books have the power to inspire imagination and open new perspectives. Each title is created with care and attention to storytelling, design, and meaningful ideas.

What We Publish

Books for Dreamers publishes a range of titles for both young and adult readers, including:

For young readers, we create beautifully illustrated board books and learning materials that encourage children to explore the world through play and curiosity. Inspired by the clean simplicity often associated with Danish design, our children’s books feature handmade watercolor collage illustrations and gentle storytelling that support early learning and creativity.
For adult readers, we publish guides, novels, and self-development books that explore real-life experiences, cultural perspectives, and personal growth.
At Books for Dreamers, every book begins with an idea worth sharing and a story worth telling. Our goal is to create books that inspire curiosity, encourage creativity, and help readers better understand themselves and the world around them.

Zoe Ko is the founder of Books for Dreamers, as well as the author and illustrator of many of its titles.
She holds a degree in Book Publishing and has always dreamed of becoming a writer. Zoe has lived in Denmark since 2009, where her experiences as an immigrant, student, mother, and creative professional have shaped both her writing and storytelling.
Zoe writes across several genres, including children’s literature, guides for international residents in Denmark, novels, and personal development books. All of her books so far have been written, illustrated, and designed by her personally, combining storytelling with handmade artistic techniques such as watercolor collage.
Her children’s books are inspired by the idea of learning through play and the clean simplicity of Danish design, creating simple and engaging stories that help young children explore language, nature, and everyday life.
Through her guides and other nonfiction writing, Zoe also shares practical knowledge and personal experiences to help others navigate life in Denmark and build confidence in new environments.
Through Books for Dreamers, Zoe continues to develop new stories, educational materials, and creative projects for readers of all ages.
